A fight broke out last season between Robinson, Ceaser Emanuel and Teddy Ruks that seemingly led to the artist’s severe tissue damage in his back. However, the cast mates’ explosive altercation stemmed from Lombardi’s beef with Emanuel.
Rewind to season 6, the beginning of Lombardi and Emanuel feud. Emanuel, who’s the shop owner of “Black Ink,” fired Lombardi after she went off on him for hiring Ruks’ girlfriend and Lombardi’s sworn enemy Tatianna as the company’s new VP. Emanuel and the artist got into a fiery verbal altercation, prompting Lombardi to mush his forehead.
Emanuel and Lombardi eventually came face-to-face again at Young Bae’s wedding dinner, and instead of the shop owner gunning for Lombardi, he instead decided to take his anger out on Robinson, who was an innocent bystander to Emanuel and Lombardi’s beef.
The shop owner and his cousin Ruks jumped Robinson, subsequently causing him to fall on his back.
Fast forward to season 7 and Robinson appeared to be suffering permanent injuries stemming from the fight. He was taken to a hospital when he and Lombardi found out that he’d sustained tissue damage in his back as a result of the fracas. The doctor said he’d be in physical therapy for weeks until he could “make all of” his “tissues and muscles normal again.”
“This is so scary right now I don’t even know what to do,” Lombardi said in her confessional, referring to her boyfriend’s situation. “F–k you Ceaser this is all your f–king fault!”
“Black Ink” viewers quickly turned the tables and blasted Lombardi for being the cause of Robinson’s crippling condition.
“He certainly doesn’t deserve all this and Donna doesn’t look out for him having his best interest at heart. She’s selfish and self-centered. #Dumpdonna.”
“Man Alex needs to dump Donna this is all her fault! Get rid of her!”
“Really Donna he wouldn’t be in the hospital had you not started s–t with Ceas. Smh it’s your fault .”
“Can Alex get rid of her already! She’s the cause of his problems not Ceas and Teddy!”
Award winning singer K. Michelle is in hot water with fans after seemingly sticking her nose up at people.
The reality star appears to be over folks criticizing the person she is and sent a stern message to haters who have something negative to say about her. She took to Instagram on Monday, March 18 with a screenshot of a tweet she posted, indicating that people who’ve spoke ill about her will reap the “Karma” they deserve.
“People talk so much s–t about me and I never say a word especially when I think they are beneath me,’ the “Crazy Like Me” singer wrote in her tweet. “Just be quiet and watch as they put on a show. That Karma hit different when you don’t have to hand it out. Ha!”
K. Michelle who constantly receives flak for her brash manner, was slammed by fans who were annoyed by her ostensibly haughty attitude.
“No one is beneath anyone ..that part not cool see thats whats wrong with the world today …people think they better then the next,” one fan commented on K.’s page. God Gaveth to you he will taketh away .”
Another person wrote, “Beneath you? B–ch you ain’t God! No one person is better than the next. Just because ur situation is different and a little better than others doesn’t mean someone is beneath you. Ur only human sweetheart that’s it!”
“You put your nose on all the time K you be high and mighty till them cameras are on,” someone else said.” Sis you’re not better than anybody and no one is ‘beneath’ you.”
K. Michelle who was clearly teed off, hit back at fans in the comments, “I said what I said. On one asked your opinion though. I said beneath me and I meant that.”
She also told another fan that they were beneath her for “talking about s–t” she “don’t even have a clue of.”
“I mind business on my page! If you don’t understand what I’m saying I don’t give a F–K,” K. Michelle wrote.
Over the past few years, K. Michelle has been vocal about what she sees as her lack of recognition in the music industry. She indicated to Big Tigger in April 2017, that people tend to overlook her multi-talents due to her strong personality. She admitted that sometimes she does have diarrhea of the mouth and her blunt personality can get in her trouble.
In 2013, K. Michelle blasted the Grammys for her nomination snub. She felt her album at the time “Rebellious Soul” was worthy of a Grammy nomination.
“Wow major Grammy snub. I guess a little Black girl who truly speaks her mind was a little 2much huh? Gotta work harder next year,” she wrote on Twitter. She was upset that she wasn’t nominated for any category, including “Best New Artist.”
She however later doubled down on her statement by saying, “It wasn’t my time. Can’t change my music 2fit.”
GENEVA (AP) — A panel convened by the World Health Organization said it would be “irresponsible” for scientists to use gene editing for reproductive purposes, but stopped short of calling for a ban.
The experts also called for the U.N. health agency to create a database of scientists working on gene editing. The recommendation was announced Tuesday after a two-day meeting in Geneva to examine the scientific, ethical, social and legal challenges of such research.
“At this time, it is irresponsible for anyone to proceed” with making gene-edited babies since DNA changes could be passed down to future generations, the experts said in a statement.
Last year, Chinese researcher He Jiankui rocked the scientific community with his announcement that he helped make the world’s first gene-edited babies, altering the DNA of twin girls to try to make them resistant to HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
WHO’s announcement comes after an international group of scientists and ethicists called for a temporary ban on gene-edited babies in the journal Nature last week.
Margaret Ann Hamburg, co-chair of the WHO panel, and her colleagues declined to call for a similar prohibition.
“I don’t think a vague moratorium is the answer to what needs to be done,” she said. “What we’re trying to do is to look at the broader picture.”
She said the experts envisioned a WHO-directed database where journal publishers and funders of gene editing research would require scientists to sign up — but acknowledged they had not yet worked out how to reprimand any scientists who refused to register.
Earlier this year, Chinese investigators said He had dodged supervision of his work and broke research norms because he wanted to be famous. The report said He could face consequences, although it didn’t specify which regulations he may have violated.
WHO’s director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced the formation of the panel in early December after He revealed his experiment.
“We have to be very, very careful” about how to proceed, Tedros said at the time. “We have a big part of our population who say, ‘Don’t touch.’”
Gene editing is intended as a more precise way to do gene therapy. Trying it in adults to treat diseases is not controversial and the DNA changes do not pass to future generations. But most scientists think gene editing to make babies is too risky to be tried at the moment because of the danger of damaging other genes and because unknown DNA alterations could be passed on.
The hip-hop couple ostensibly doesn’t mind letting the world know just how madly in love they are with each other, and they have pictures as proof. Ka’Oir took to Instagram on Sunday and shared a photo of herself planted on her husband’s lap. The two appeared to be sitting outside their Miami home on a chaise lounge in front of their pool.
In the photo, Mane grabbed his wife by the thighs as she perched on top of him. Ka’Oir who sported a revealing white two-piece bikini cover at the time, plumped her derrière on her husband’s lap while looking back at the camera. The model channeled her freaky nature and Jamaican roots, writing in the caption “Si-dung Pan it,” adding a tongue emoji.
Fans responded back with their own lustful comments, urging Ka’Oir to get frisky with her husband.
“A your own goodie, do whatever you want, who waan vex a fi dem business @keyshiakaoir,” an Instagram user commented underneath the former model’s comments. “Tik tok pan it!’
Another added, “Yes gyal show den how haammocan keep man . Issa whole mood!”
“Don’t play with ,” a third fan wrote. “Yes my girl nuh gyal cyah try seduce yu man when yu a back it up like a dumpa truck rayyyyyy .”
Ka’Oir and the “Freaky Girl” rapper have been deemed as couple goals for many fans. They first met in 2010 after Gucci hired her as his leading lady in his rap video “911 Emergency.” Ka’Oir told “Fader” magazine in 2017, that she and the performer instantly had chemistry on their first date and began hanging out quite frequently.
The pair later got engaged in 2016 when he proposed to her at an Atlanta Hawks Game with a $500,000 25-carat diamond ring. She naturally said yes, and they married in an October 2017 ceremony that was broadcast on their BET series “Mane Event.”
The pair celebrated their first wedding anniversary together last year with pictures from their wedding day. Ka’Oir took to Instagram with a sweet message, thanking her husband for his love.
“Happy Anniversary my amazinggggg husband @laflare1017,” she wrote. “Although we were already married, 10/17 is a very special day for us! Your love is so unique & we’ve grown so much together! U loved me with a love that was more than love! As we celebrate 8years together, we celebrate our milestones with so many memories! I Love u soooooooosooooo much my LIFE partner.”
CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago police union’s president alleges that the county’s top prosecutor interfered with the investigation of “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett before recusing herself and wants the Justice Department to determine if she broke any laws.
WLS-TV in Chicago reports that Fraternal Order of Police President Kevin Graham wrote the Justice Department following reports that Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx asked Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson to let the FBI investigate Smollett’s allegations that he was attacked by two masked men after the former chief of staff to former first lady Michelle Obama informed Foxx that Smollett’s family had concerns about the probe.
The police kept the investigation and Foxx recused herself. Her office charged Smollett with lying to police.
Foxx’s office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Lupita Nyong’oisn’t currently publicly dating anyone, but, from the looks of it, she certainly could have two-time co-star Winston Duke if she wanted to.
A recent photo of the “Us” co-stars, who first worked together on last year’s blockbuster “Black Panther,” shows the pair looking delightful together as Duke holds Nyong’o from behind while the pair lock hands. The image, which was initially posted in full on Nyong’o’s Instagram page March 16, was snapped while the stars promoted their new Jordan Peele-directed horror flick in Germany.
“See the way lupita will just post up with your mans and there’s absolutely nothing u can do about it ,” tweeted freelance journalist Victoria Sanusi on Saturday.
And it’s not the first time the star has been seen with her co-stars in a way that indicates she has a way of captivating them.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court seemed to struggle Monday with how to resolve a case that could help flip control of the Virginia House of Delegates to Democrats.
The justices heard arguments in a case about the map Virginia has used to choose House delegates, a map a lower court ruled discriminated against black voters. The lack of clarity about how the high court will resolve the case was odd because the justices had previously allowed the lower court to approve a replacement map. State elections officials are currently preparing to use that replacement map for primary contests in June. The replacement map is seen as favorable to Democrats and could help them gain control of the House.
The Republican-controlled House, meanwhile, is defending the map it drew in 2011, after the last census, which has been used in the four elections since. Democratic voters sued in 2014, accusing Republicans of packing black voters into certain districts to make surrounding districts whiter and more Republican. Republicans currently hold control of the House of Delegates by a slim 51-49 margin.
The map Virginia officials are currently using was created after the lower court ruled 2-1 in June that the previous, legislature-drawn map improperly factored race into the drawing of 11 of the 100 House districts. After the House and Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam were unable to reach an agreement on a redistricting plan, the lower court chose a new map from a series of proposals submitted by a special master.
The justices had been asked to block the lower court from approving a new map while the case proceeded in the Supreme Court, but the justices declined in January. So Virginia election planning has moved forward with the new plan. Candidates have until March 28 to sign up for primary contests, which are set for June 11, ahead of November’s election. Any decision by the Supreme Court that changes what map is used could be hugely disruptive if the justices don’t move quickly.
However the Supreme Court decides, it will be the last time the map is used because it will need to be redrawn following the results of the 2020 census.
On Monday, justices questioned both whether the House of Delegates had a right to bring the case to the high court and whether the districts it drew were problematic. Justice Brett Kavanaugh noted that black lawmakers had been supportive of the original map and that it was given required approval by the Justice Department. But Justice Elena Kagan seemed to suggest lawmakers should have done a more thorough, district by district analysis when drawing boundaries.
This is the second time the case has been to the Supreme Court. In 2017 the justices voted to throw out a ruling that upheld the challenged districts. It told the lower court to revisit the case and apply a different legal standard. The lower court then concluded that the 11 districts violated the Constitution’s equal protection clause.
The case is 18-281, VA House of Delegates v. Bethune-Hill.
A new report says seven members of the U.S. military have been identified as members of a white nationalist group.
Chat logs obtained by HuffPost as part of its investigation reveal a member of the Texas National Guard, one member of the Air Force, two Army ROTC cadets, two Marines, and an Army physician to be part of Identity Evropa.
The publication used the logs from a server on a group chat app popular with the alt-right called Discord, the complete server contents of which were released by independent media collective Unicorn Riot last week, to sift through chats. HuffPost verified seven men as current members of the U.S. armed forces.
Identity Evropa has espoused racist views but claims to promote pride in European ancestry. It rose to prominence in 2017 when it helped organize the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia that turned deadly. Since then, attempts have been made to cast aside that association and Identity Evropa has aligned itself with Donald Trump supporters. It has also renamed itself as the American Identity Movement since the Unicorn Riot leak, another way to distance itself from far-right violence.
In the meantime, HuffPost has reached out to the military, which confirmed it’s investigating some of the men’s possible ties to Identity Evropa. Apparently, past tips have led the military to already begin investigating the men, looking to see if they have engaged in discrimination and extremist activity.
The Marine Corps, the Army, the Air Force and the Texas National Guard confirmed that the men identified in the HuffPost’s investigation — Marines Stephen T. Farrea and Jason Laguardia; ROTC members Jay C. Harrison and Christopher Hodgman; Air Force member Dannion Phillips; Joseph Kane of the Texas Army National Guard and physician Christopher Cummins — are currently serving in the military.
Among the things each of the men did, Farrea, a corporal in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, wrote in Discord chats under the user name SuperTomPerry-RI that “Portsmouth my town 95 percent white very nice” and said he was eager to post “It’s okay to be white” flyers in Rhode Island. SuperTomPerry-RI’s photos match those Farrea shared on Instagram.
Laguardia, another Marine who is a lance corporal in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, was seen at an Identity Evropa gathering in Kentucky.
Laguardia constantly posted on the app pictures of Identity Evropa flyers and stickers he plastered up in Connecticut and New York City. Most of the time he took the flyers to college campuses, including New York University and Yale University.
As for the ROTC cadets, one of them, Harrison, is in the program at Montana State University at Bozeman and is also a part of the Army National Guard.
“Go play niggerball if you aren’t tough enough for wrestling,” Harrison, who used the name Lawrence of Eurabia and posted biographical information consistent with Harrison, wrote in on the leaked log. “God I hate basketball so much.”
Hodgman, another ROTC cadet and Army Reserve member, possibly posted on Discord under the name Alex Kolchak-NY. Hodgman had admitted in a police investigation to posting Identity Evropa flyers and stickers throughout Brighton, New York.
Discord user Alex Kolchak-NY posted photos to the app of stickers he said he put up in that same town and they came at around the same time of Hodgman’s admission. Hodgman’s lawyer, however, would not confirm or deny to the HuffPost that Alex Kochak-NY is Hodgman or that his client belongs to Identity Evropa.
Army Reserve lieutenant colonel physician Cummins was identified by his links to Discord username giuseppe398, which matches biographical information tied to the doctor and is also part of his email address on neo-Confederate group website Military Order of Stars and Bars.
Like those listed before him, giuseppe398 also posted flyers in his area, including Mississippi — where he is originally from — and his current town of Jackson, Tennessee. He boasted about the flyers and told members of the extremist group he enjoys Tennessee because it’s “conservative & Christian – implicitly white.”
More obvious is Kane, a Texas National Guard member who used his last name as his user name on the app. His biographical details match with those Discord user Kane posted about. Kane shared a popular white supremacist meme reading “It’s okay to be white” on Facebook and had previously been accused of being a white supremacist during his time as a precinct chair for the Denton County Republican Party.
Another obvious link came from Discord user DannionP, who is Dannion Phillips of Oklahoma in chats and arranged to pay dues for Identity Evropa. He posted pictures in October of the organization’s stickers that he plastered around Oklahoma City.
Tamar Braxton’sbirthday finally arrived and she gave fans a glimpse of her birthday body as a result. But things went left when the “Celebrity Big Brother” winner started getting blasted for seemingly going under the knife.
Braxton posted a quick clip of herself posing in a swimsuit and blond wig with a St. Patrick’s Day-themed filter swirling around her on Sunday, March 17.
“Ain’t no Patrick bih!! #happysttamarsday #sheslucky #shes42where” the star captioned the post.
Initially, fans flooded the singer’s comments section with good wishes for her birthday.
“Happy birthday!!!! Enjoy your special day!!! Embrace life to the fullest!!!!”
“Happy bday tay tayyyyy ”
“Happy Birthday Many More God Bless U N-Joy Ur Day @tamarbraxton From: #JBreezy.”
But then the attention turned to what many claimed they saw as a change in Braxton’s face. And her followers had tons of questions as well as commands to halt the work commenters say she appears to have had done.
“@tamarbraxton what happened to your face stop with the surgery.”
“What u do to ur lips”
“What happened to your face.”
“@tamarbraxton PLEASE stop messing up your face. You look a hot ass mess!!! ”
It very well could have been the filter that had fans thinking their fav had some work done. Regardless, Braxton has faced accusations of obtaining plastic surgery many times before.
One of the most recent times came in January when she posted a video using another Instagram video that prompted fans to beg her to back away from the plastic surgeon’s office.
“Please stop having surgeries. You are naturally pretty.”
“You are naturally pretty. You don’t need to keep having plastic surgery. ”
But one thing fans can’t doubt is that her body is all hers.
The star has been documenting just how serious she is about dropping the 20 pounds she said she gained while in the “Celebrity Big Brother.” Earlier this month she even attended a weekend pop-up spin class and sweated it out to hip-hop beats.
